In the video SCTV Compilation Part 1, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The bit was brought to life originally as fluff to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content demands, the brothers transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The two later became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

This is the first of four appearances by the 5 Neat Guys: http://www.sctvguide.ca/cgi-bin/sctvmangler On some commentary track Eugene Levy tells Joe Flaherty that it was only while watching this later that he realized Flaherty was playing drunk, and says he laughed as hard as he ever laughed in his life, or something like that. If you want to laugh at something most people don’t catch, listen very carefully to the guys as they continue singing “She Does It” after Dave Thomas’s announcer starts talking at 1:03… “She’ll do it anywhere you please / She’ll do it on her back and on her knees…” Thank you for sharing this!

Harold Ramis and Martin Short weren't in Five Neat Guys' Greatest Hits (the other two are Dave Thomas and Rick Moranis), and it was Rick Moranis in "Young and the Wrestling".
