In the video SCTV – Curtis Edgit PLAINCLOTHES MOUNTIE, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of made up Canadian brothers who starred in “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob McKenzie is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by Dave Thomas. The sketch was developed originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content laws, the characters turned into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
CURTIS EDGIT PLAINCLOTHES MOUNTIE: Harold Ramis is the hilarious not so undercover cop in this classic Canadian sketch.
Also known as Second City TV (1976–1981) – SCTV Network 90 (1981–1983) – SCTV Channel (1983–1984). This classic Canadian sketch comedy launched many careers and went mostly un-noticed by US audiences save for a brief stint on NBC.
