In the video SCTV + DISCO – Perry Como Still Alive (Eugene Levy), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hysterical Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob is played by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as filler to both please and makes jokes about network Canadian content demands, the characters grew up to be a pop culture hit in both Canada and America. The two went on to become the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
