Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – Dr. Tongue and His Animal Friends

In the video SCTV – Dr. Tongue and His Animal Friends, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is played by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as filler to both fulfill and mock dumb Canadian content policies, the two grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
