In the video SCTV – ELVIS ‘N’ COSTELLO (Who’s on First?), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian family members who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although created originally as an idea to both satisfy and laugh at dumb Canadian content legislation, the duo turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Also known as Second City TV (1976–1981) – SCTV Network 90 (1981–1983) – SCTV Channel (1983–1984). This classic Canadian sketch comedy launched many careers and went mostly un-noticed by US audiences save for a brief stint on NBC.
