In the video SCTV – English for Beginners – Andrea Martin & Catherine O’Hara, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was shown on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is acted by comic Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and laugh at non sensical Canadian content laws, the characters became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
