Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV: Famous Philosophers’ School with Harold Ramis
In the video SCTV: Famous Philosophers’ School with Harold Ramis, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of hysterical Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Although made originally as filler to both please and laugh at annoying Canadian content guidelines, the siblings transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the States. The characters later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
One of our favorite SCTV sketches featuring one of the greats– The Second City’s dear friend, Harold Ramis.
