Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Fantasy Island Parody, Pt 5: Grand Finale

In the video SCTV Fantasy Island Parody, Pt 5: Grand Finale, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by CBC Television in in the early 80s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is created by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by comic Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously made originally as filler to both please and makes jokes about silly Canadian content laws, the pair turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
