Bob McKenzie is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a joke to both fulfill and laugh about dumb Canadian content legislation, the pair grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the United States. The characters enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
