Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Godfather parody
In the video SCTV Godfather parody, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of strange Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it aired by CBC Television in the year 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is played by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was born originally as a sketch to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content policies, the brothers became a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Way funnier than SNL
Maybe my favorite SCTV skit ever.
Coming back to them yet again, another decade gone of nothing near these legends.
Never liked Opie. Should be whacked
Eugene as Floyd is quite possibly the funniest thing ever aired on television.
They broke my barber pole! Hahaha
Dude who did the laugh track on this show was a nut. He admitted that never 'got' their
humour and the laughs were randomly put in even when nothing of note was on screen,
from Dave Thomas' great book.
Seemed stupid, I kept waiting for funny but it never showed up.
Floyd post stroke.
And that is where the character of Milton came from.
Not one second of funny. Didn't even attempt to "do" Brando. TERRIBLE.
Sctv was truly funny
Remember Sammy Maudlin??¿??
Great, saving
After all these years, SCTV still the champions of comedy
Same garbage as snl
You know Godfather Andy there’s another shop with two chairs in Mount Pilot cutting into my business. I need you to do something about it. I hear Opie has been going there with that Arnold boy.
The God barber.
I remember watching this when it was first broadcast. To be a teenager again.
Also catch the great bit where Floyd the barber meets Merv Griffin with dualing voices. A classic
The best years of SCTV. Their work was peerless.
Ooh… a oh. Yesssssss
I remember the days of watching SCTV and the first time I ‘found’ it on TV. So much fun. I was amazed and called my sister to HURRY UP and turn on her TV.
Classic!
exactly what Floyd would do.
ridiculously funny mixing godfather and mayberry rfd.
Great. Better than anything SNL ever did
Opie and some thugs broke my barber pole.
I loved the skit when John Candy played the Beaver from leave it to Beaver.

Eugene’s best character was Brian Johns
Give me a deal on a haircut I can’t refuse….
