Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – Graft Recipes
In the video SCTV – Graft Recipes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian siblings who starred in “Great White North”, a show which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was born originally as fluff to both please and mock silly Canadian content statutes, the characters transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The pair became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
When relativers or friends drop in on you, why not treat them to something Special 🙂 From SCTV 1984

Eeew parmesan cheese candy!
I remember this commercial on SCTV and wonder what the context may have been – were they parodying the Carol Burnett show as well on the episode?
I Remember the art n camera work, all of the primitive kraft products, I believe this was during "The Beachcombers", "Carol Burnette show","The Rovers",and "HNIC", Eugene Levy sounds alot Like buddy's commentary…
Yeah, totally remember those Kraft ads as a kid watching cbc network… It was all about those HANDS, lol!!
I'm dyin!! LOLOLOoo!
All that's missing is Ed Hurlihy.
This is from the late 70's actually. From the second season when SCTV was half hour episodes after Saturday Night Live.
Guess Levy's a bit of a gourmet. Andrea Martin said he once sent a steak back three times.
Perfect sandwich for Trumptards!!!
The original "how to basic"
This is just what food was like back in the 80s
1:44 Just pours the ketchup. Perfection.
Why tf am i watching this hung over? Omg im gonna ralph.
Chef John brought me here
ya no unfair comparison! you're a tad more sophisticated than that…. you would have quit at the sliced beets…
I remember in the late 70s as a kid watching SCTV after watching SNL…
Remember these commercials on NBC in the 60s.
Dead on target, hilarious.
Oh Man,I used to make a sandwich like this when I was a bachelor.
Is the voice Rick Moranis?
Cheesus…I remember watching Kraft Music Hall when a woman sang The Word by the Beatles. After the song the MC approached the singer and said, "That was The Word by the Beatles." The singer nodded and said, "And the word is love." The MC replied with, "Not around here. Around here the word is Kraft." And they went to a commercial.
Second City, 1979.
Cheese covered candy apples. I may never eat again.:(
Gee I've been to the grocery store and they don't carry "uncooked duck fat"-I just don't this recipe is going to be any good without that!!! LOL
This is the most Surreal SCTV I've seen. Cheesy graft and all that it symbolizes in a slick TV commercial.
The world's worst $300 sandwich.
Were the real Kraft ads ever aired during Hockey Night in Canada? My once-infallible memory is failing.
Kraft sliced cheese was ok, didn't mind cheese whiz, velveeta is gross
this has me on the floor, the best thing Eugene has ever done , just love that sandwich, hehehhehhe
Great satire of the Kraft food recipe commercials I used to see on CBC in the 1970s when Reach For The Top was on. I laughed myself silly when I first saw this sketch back in 1978 as a 14 year old.
I remember as a kid watching The Carol Burnett Show with family in Canada, and having those goddawful Kraft "party ideas" ads running through the show. This is a direct parody of those (and spot on!)…
Leave it to the truly brilliant to think of the simple recipes. Why couldn't I have thought of that? Crap!!
DELICIOUS!! Thanks for uploading! I grew up eating that crap!
