In the video SCTV | Great White North – Back Bacon/Snow Chains, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a improv which was shown on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was featured on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is played by Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Which was developed originally as a skit to both follow guidelines and make fun of dumb Canadian content laws, the brothers became a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
