Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV | Great White North – Cops

In the video SCTV | Great White North – Cops, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hysterical Canadian brothers who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. The character Bob McKenzie is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as an idea to both please and laugh at silly Canadian content legislation, the brothers turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
