Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Guy Cabellero’s minted coin

In the video SCTV Guy Cabellero’s minted coin, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian siblings who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sold to CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is played by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was born originally as a joke to both satisfy and make fun of silly Canadian content demands, the two turned into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
