In the video SCTV – Introducing “The Days of the Week ” – Episode 1, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob McKenzie is created by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously born originally as an idea to both fulfill and laugh at stupid Canadian content policies, the duo turned into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
THE DAYS OF THE WEEK: Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday – these are “The Days of the Week”. Starring, Clay Collins, Violet McKay, Mojo, Dr. Elliot Sabian, Dr. William Wainwright, Jack Harrington, and Rocco.
Also known as Second City TV (1976–1981) – SCTV Network 90 (1981–1983) – SCTV Channel (1983–1984). This classic Canadian sketch comedy launched many careers and went mostly un-noticed by US audiences save for a brief stint on NBC.
