Brillant on all fronts! Wow!
Professor Frink would love this.
And the real Jerry hated it.
That was a damn good impression!
As an American, I'll never understand what the French saw in Jerry Lewis.
Comedy gold!! Brought to you by Martin Scorsese!!
Anyone else rediscover this gem from a ridiculous article at Slate?
It was titled: "Why We Keep Putting Up With Martin Short"
BY DAN KOIS
and I could only wonder who was putting up with Dan Kois, and why…
I am laughing so hard I'm crying.
There are clips on YouTube of Jerry Lewis performing in Las Vegas. This is terrifyingly accurate. He would literally be trying to do some kind of schtick and if it did not work out exactly how he wanted it he would explode. Even on audience members.
Brilliant.
JL was a mean individual. Said some hurtful things about Dean, cut his son out of the will and was a mediocre comic. His telethon stuff was deplorable. I really like his new stuff now. Oh wait.
The ONLY time I’ve found Jerry Lewis funny … and it wasn’t even him .
2:22 that’s a reference to when Loui screwed up in 1979 and Jerry gave him the “Loui that’s a cue” on live TV
This is quantum funny. I spit upon all of you.
He’s dead on he’s way funnier than the actual Jerry Lewis
❤
This is not a parody…this is not satire…this is an exact imitation of Jerry Lewis as a performer. In fact, this is not awful enough. Jerry Lewis was worse than this.
If he had a talent, it was a talent for being totally un-funny .
Dan Kois from Slate sent me here. He's clearly wrong
What was my life before this
Watch this next. Jerry Lewis and Martin Short doing a musical number. Short ad libs a couple digs and Jerry looks like he's going to punch him. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6qdNlCD_BR4
I bet Jerry hated this.
SCTV is so missed.
Martin perfectly captures the juvenile ameturish lousy stage act that he schlepped around the world for 50 years.
The manic pandering, pontificating, bullying and uniquely horrible singing! Short showcases it all brilliantly.
Short's Canadian upbringing means he has some French so can intersperse Jerry's classics even more effectively to his fauxFrench audience.
It stands up as one of the funniest things of all time.
I'm plotzing, already. I laughed so hard my kishkes hurt!
Epic
A very normal presentation.
Fantastic…the narcissism is so beautifully related. Loved they were throwing baguettes at the end.
La La Nice Lady!
The baguettes made all the difference.
Do me! Show me! Yea!
From the man who gave us Ed Grimley.
Jerry just HAD to perform whether we wanted him to or not.
I know they raised a lot of money, but did you ever watch Jerry on those telethons in the middle of the night when he hadn’t slept? This was a reminder.
