In the video SCTV John Candy High Q Second City TV Television John Candy, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s character is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and make fun of stupid Canadian content laws, the characters became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and America. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
