Bob is acted by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is played by actor Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and laugh at legal Canadian content guidelines, the pair became a pop culture success in both Canada and the US. One of our greatest actresses, her acting chops are overlooked due to her comic chops.
The woman is a genius! I watched Katharine’s Dick Cavett interviews and this did her to a tee … and so funny at the same time.
Not to take anything away from her spot-on impression but on a clip from SCTV Remembers she's talking to Marty Short and says she borrowed her impression from Short's.
I bet she'd blow up real good!
I'm watching "The Aviator" for the Nth time and have just reached the point where Howard Hughes broke the speed record but admitted to Kate Hepburn that he had strange thoughts (as she was washing his injured paw) … and I suddenly needed to see a long-term character study like Cate Blanchett's side by side with comic genius O'Hara's 2-minute parody version. I was not disappointed.
Martin Short's is better.
I'm amazed at how many episodes PBS neglected to air back in the day when they were re-running SCTV. So many skits I do not recall.
Perfection
Brilliant. Just finished watching on golden pond and she's really got her.
I saw Katherine Hepburn on Dick Cavitt and she sat in the chair just like that, wonder if that's the interview they're spoofing or if she sat like that all the time!
this woman is incredibly amazingly fantastic
Perfect impression.. Catherine nailed this. Just watch the Dick Cavett interviews.
Possibly my favorite Hepburn impersonation.
Oh my god! She is incredible
Nailed it.
Brilliant Katherine O'Hara . Always loved everything she and All of the SCTV comic actors did ..
Catherine O’Hara is simply talented. From Lola to Hepburn she can do it all!
Easily my favorite SCTV bit of all time.
Wow, she nailed it. Kate Hepburn would believe that was her ownself!
Katherine Hepburn has an iconic voice so it's not hard to impersonate her. What makes this so funny is the script and, for some of us who saw this when it first aired, especially hilarious because there was an advertising campaign for a brand of tea at the time that was blatantly using the sexual innuendo of the phrase, "Her first time… "His first time… . That's what made this totally topical at the time and genius comedy.
Simply brilliant!
Catherine O'Hara should win a Nobel Prize for Comedy, and if there isn't such a thing they should make one just for her.
She does one of the greatest impressions of Hepburn I've heard since Martin Short who does the best!
