In the video SCTV – LARUE TOWERS – Not the Taj Mahal, but it’s cheap!, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hilarious Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was televised on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s partThe character Bob is created by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of annoying Canadian content laws, the duo turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the US. The two enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
