In the video SCTV LEGEND DAVE THOMAS NOV, 2021, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is performed by Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was developed originally as filler to both follow guidelines and mock annoying Canadian content policies, the duo transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
