Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – Lewis Sings Dylan (Martin Short)
In the video SCTV – Lewis Sings Dylan (Martin Short), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was shown on second city television for the show’s most liked season when it aired by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in . Bob is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by the comedian Dave Thomas. Although born originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and mock stupid Canadian content policies, the two grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
Martin Short’s impersonation of Jerry Lewis. Always makes me feel good – a lot!

It makes me feel good a lot.
Missed opportunity to have Jerry say "Lay, LADIEEEEEEE Lay."

Ridiculously funny!
Genius
Comic genius! Love Halfwits game show
I'd like to hear Martin Short do buddy love
No.
what a multi-talented performer.
Haha – I used to drive my ex crazy (no, this isn't why she's my ex) imitating one artist singing another, like a country guy singing REM's 'Losing My Religion'.
Even today this gets me to laugh out loud by myself. The blowin' in the wind clothes rip is frigging funny. ("Oh really? I didn't even know he was sick." lol)
I used to watch this. It was brilliant and really funny. Most of the people on this show went on to become huge stars.
Martin short and Mike Myers are two of the funniest comedians ever
that was awesome
I'm sorry, did I just take acid or get dosed?
SCTV blew their entire weekly episode budget on that big paper mache rock!
This is just too good, it should be illegal!
I absolutely adore “the death of Emmett Till…? I didn’t even know he was sick!”
For context, this album costs $6.99 and Short was working SCTV IN 1982-1983. In 2023, that would be around $22.00 per album. So, not as cheap as it sounds today.
But that's why kids today own a lot more albums on CDs or MP3 than their grandparents did when they were in their teens. Kids in the 1960s bought a lot of 45 RPM Singles, usually at less than a buck each. Prices didn't rise very fast back then, so I remember paying $5 -$6 for monophonic rock albums in the mid 1960s. Most stores around me only had Stereo albums in classical music, with most rock being in mono.
When I bought the Beatles' (Stereo) White Album, it costs $10, which in 2023 would be around $83.00 for a double album set. However, it was one of the original numbered and stamped albums that I bought in a collector's shop.
I can’t find this on eBay. Anybody? Help a guy out …
'This is another good song you get also' – lol
If you buy my album, this is another good song you’ll get also…
now that's entertainment!
ai could make this whole album tomorrow
Lay Lady Lay would be HEY….. LADY!!!!! Hey….
@jjwhyte14, can you please tell me when this episode aired?
HEY, LADYYYYYYYYYY!!!
Seems like a precursor of Jackie Rogers, Jr.
