In the video SCTV “Linkin Murcurry Dali Edition and K-Tel Stash Wax”, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of made up Canadian brothers who were featured in “Great White North”, a improv which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it was featured on CBC Television in 1980. Bob is performed by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was made originally as an idea to both fulfill and makes jokes about annoying Canadian content laws, the siblings morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers enetually would become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
