In the video SCTV: Lola Heatherton Bouncing Back to You Special pt2, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of hilarious Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was shown on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. The bit was created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and mock silly Canadian content legislation, the brothers morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The pair became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
