In the video SCTV – Lola’s Love Spirit, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian comedians who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it was broadcast on CBC Television in 1980. Bob’s part is performed by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and the character Doug is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. It was born originally as an idea to both please and make fun of legal Canadian content policies, the brothers transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the United States. The McKenzie brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
