In the video SCTV – Long Distance Call, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of odd Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a program which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in 1980. Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is performed by comic Dave Thomas. Which was developed originally as a sketch to both follow guidelines and laugh about stupid Canadian content statutes, the brothers transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The brothers went on to become the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
