Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV – “Midnight Cowboy II” (3/18/1983)
In the video SCTV – “Midnight Cowboy II” (3/18/1983), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a segment which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s third season when it was aired on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is created by Rick Moranis and Doug is played by Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was brought to life originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about network Canadian content legislation, the pair grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
A corpulent male prostitute forms an uneasy bond with a crippled street hustler. Starring John Candy and Eugene Levy.

People forget that sketches like this were the ONLY way kids my age would be able to actually see "Midnight Cowboy" for the first time, since we couldn't go see the real version in theaters. So a whole generation of kids was introduced to Midnight Cowboy through Dr. Tongue. Just the way he says, "…meat!!" alone is worth an Emmy… 2:47
they don't make em' like this anymore
I remember watching this when it first aired. If you think Jon Voight and Dustin hoffman walking down the street in New York in character in the original movie was something, Candy and Levy did the same thing in these outfits. Now they got looks. people were turning around to stare, it was marvelous.
It's like being stoned for the first time all over again.
How they don’t laugh during that, is unexplainable.
Eugene Levy is amazing in this skit no to mention Mr.Candy
This was classic comedy!
Eugine Levy is incomparable.
THIS one should have won the Oscar.
You cut off right before the best part!
in what currency pesos? didigtney?
Rizzo's my favorite character in the real movie, but John Candy as fat lisping Joe Buck just owns this sketch.
