Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Monster Chiller Horror Theatre: The House of Cats
In the video SCTV Monster Chiller Horror Theatre: The House of Cats, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of hysterical Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was included on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was brought to life originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and make fun of non sensical Canadian content statutes, the pair morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The brothers later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

God i miss Sctv….kids in the hall is good but this is seriously the best classic
It's remarkable how non-fat John Candy actually was.
Catherine O'Hara such a girlish crush of admiration She is amazing ya know Ya'll :0
That cat transformation was seamless.
Would you like to see my dinky
You see that? He done blowed up!
Yep…he blowed up real good!!
Poor Dinky
When I was a small kid, about 8 years old, I thought this was a real Network.
This is my favourite SCTV sketch because I love Hilarious House of Frightenstein, and Joe Flaherty captured that sort of vibe perfectly as Count Floyd.
This is just barely a parody of those wonderful, cheesy old horror films. Great!
The news…
Count Floyd was also newscaster Floyd Robertson, a reference to Canadian news anchor Lloyd Robertson,. Growing up in S. Ontario where the show was made, we also saw Buffalo weatherman Tom Jolls as Commander Tom on Saturday mornings. CTV Kitchener had Polka Time on Sundays at 6pm which inspired the Schemges and many more regional influences including from CityTV.
i sent for my 3-D glasses years ago and never got them – scary
Wow, my wife was excited by that! Too funny, thanks.
$27?
Those were remarkably tolerant cats. Wonder why the cats "attacking" him in the end didn't grab on to him to stop getting tossed around. Declawed? I sure hope not. Could cats tolerate it without wanting to grab hold? Knowing cats as well as I do I seriously doubt 3 cats in one bunch would stand for it without training. Or drugs. Ok, now I've ruined it for everybody. Sorry. The cats are all long dead by now anyway.
SCTV Monster Chiller Horror Theatre: The House of Cats: in 3d!….the terror…:)
Could of been the chili.
Ahh, you're just a bunch of hosers. I'm not a hoser, you're a hoser, you hoser.
Actually a much better movie than most of the stuff made in the past 10 years.
My parents forbid us from watching this program, it was so horribly gruesome, mind destroying and for sicko’s only. They said we would have nightmares for the rest of our lives. One episode and 50 years later I still piss my pants.
Joe Flaherty never got as much credit as Candy it's a damn shame
Hardly any cats were harmed in the making of this film.
"Would you like to see my Dinky?" Adolescent humour at its best!
This show was so good Eugene Levy is a bit player
Hey, Count Floyd, I sent in my 27 bucks and I still haven't received my 3D Glasses! How am I supposed to enjoy those Killer Cats?!
waiting for…pineappr & noodr fotos
I love count Floyd. SCTV was the best comedy series to ever come out on TV!
Woo-rooo, indeed.
When does this get funny?
It just doesnt get any better
The 3D glasses were sold at the 7 /11 store, sometimes free with a large Slurpee.
Believe it or not, Count Floyd made a much better host than the Svenghouli jerk they have on TV now.
WPXI Chiller Theater was a staple stock item Saturday night.
The movie sucked but Chilly Billy was entertaining and Elvira went on to be famous.
