In the video SCTV – Monster Chiller Horror Theatre – The Odd Couple, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of imaginaryfunny Canadian actors who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s partThe character Bob is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Despite developed originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of silly Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The characters became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
