In the video SCTV: Moxwell House Margaret Hamilton Spoof., Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian actors who starred in “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it got sold to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is brought to life by Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as filler to both satisfy and makes jokes about network Canadian content rules, the pair transformed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The McKenzie siblings enetually would become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
