SCIENCE (Johnny LaRue), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of hilarious Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was shown on second city television for the show’s third season when it was aired on CBC Television in 1980. The character Bob McKenzie is acted by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is played by actor Dave Thomas. Even thoughFamously born originally as a joke to both please and laugh about silly Canadian content legislation, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the US. The McKenzie siblings later became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

Also known as Second City TV (1976–1981) – SCTV Network 90 (1981–1983) – SCTV Channel (1983–1984). This classic Canadian sketch comedy launched many careers and went mostly un-noticed by US audiences save for a brief stint on NBC.
