Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV/Nelvana/Scholastic Productions (1996/2004)

In the video SCTV/Nelvana/Scholastic Productions (1996/2004), Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is performed by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is created by comic Dave Thomas. Despite brought to life originally as fluff to both satisfy and make fun of stupid Canadian content laws, the siblings morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
