Earl's attitude in this edition sounded reminiscent of that of KGO-TV's "News Scene" main anchor (and executive editor) Van Amburg, as he told Mike Wallace in the "60 Minutes" piece "Local News: The Rating War" as aired March 10, 1974: " . . . that I do get involved, that I do solve problems, that we do things, that we get the old lady the house that she's been burned out of, that we get the money for the kid who's dying from leukemia, we get him an operation that he would not have gotten if we hadn't been here." I thought I heard at least one of those stories slightly and subtly rewritten for this sketch.

I guarantee you kids today have no idea what that teletype sound is I worked at a radio station that had one 40 years ago that thing just spit out more cheap paper with nothing on it I'm serious it was like typing on institutional brown paper towels from a roll just constantly clack clack clack clack clack thank God we don't use that crap anymore
