Joe played so many great characters. Love SCTV.
Earl's attitude in this edition sounded reminiscent of that of KGO-TV's "News Scene" main anchor (and executive editor) Van Amburg, as he told Mike Wallace in the "60 Minutes" piece "Local News: The Rating War" as aired March 10, 1974: " . . . that I do get involved, that I do solve problems, that we do things, that we get the old lady the house that she's been burned out of, that we get the money for the kid who's dying from leukemia, we get him an operation that he would not have gotten if we hadn't been here." I thought I heard at least one of those stories slightly and subtly rewritten for this sketch.
RIP Joe Flaherty, one of my favorite sketches and I haven't seen it in a long time, thanks!
RIP Joe. Thanks for everything!

Surprised the crew stopped Floyd from killing Earl.
Earl Camembert: There's a happy side to this story, we'll be back tomorrow.
I feel bad for the crew, since they've had to restrain both Earl and Floyd on separate occasions.
Pot head vs Alcoholic ✌☺
