In the video SCTV Night School High Q – John Candy Alex Trebek hosts night school edition of High Q, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of fictional Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a segment which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s most popular season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s character is brought to life by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. Which was developed originally as an idea to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content guidelines, the characters transformed into a pop culture sensation in both Canada and across the border. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
