In the video SCTV – ONE IS ENOUGH! – with Barbie Summers, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of imaginaryfunny Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s part is created by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Although created originally as an idea to both satisfy and mock stupid Canadian content rules, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the USA. The McKenzie siblings soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
ONE IS ENOUGH: Barbie Summers (Catherine O’Hara) is on her own in the big city, but who needs friends when you can have this much fun by yourself!
Also known as Second City TV (1976–1981) – SCTV Network 90 (1981–1983) – SCTV Channel (1983–1984). This classic Canadian sketch comedy launched many careers and went mostly un-noticed by US audiences save for a brief stint on NBC.
