In the video SCTV – Perry Como Still Alive, Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of strange Canadian comedians who are responsible for “Great White North”, a segment which was included on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 80’s. Bob McKenzie is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is brought to life by actor Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh about silly Canadian content rules, the characters transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the US. The pair later became the focus of a classic comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

For the record, Euegene Levy called Perry to apologize to him for this skit. Perry loved it and even referenced it in a concert he gave in Ireland, recorded for a TV special. But history has told the story: SCTV a great but mostly forgotten show although its cast went on to do great things on its own. But we still get Perry every Christmas.

This is a funny skit , however the hack Andrea Martin making fun of Connie Francis is not funny at all , it is very stupid and disappointing . Connie Francis was voted the best female entertainer of the 20th century . An honor Connie absolutely deserves over Judy Garland and Barbra Streisand .
