In the video SCTV – QUINCY: CARTOON CORONER (Jack Klugman), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hysterical Canadian brothers who are responsible for “Great White North”, a improv which was featured on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it got sent to CBC Television in the year 1980. Bob’s part is played by actor Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by the comedian Dave Thomas. The sketch was created originally as a skit to both fulfill and laugh about silly Canadian content rules, the duo transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the USA. The characters later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
