I loved every original cast member of SCTV. BEST TV show of all time.
The world would be a better place if Catherine were president.
Catherine O'Hare doing James Mason for a second is pure gold
I remember working 2nd shift and looking forward to seeing SCTV before there was a snl. They were unbelievably laugh your ass off funny and then some. Love them all and I have so many fond memories of them all!
Had a real good time watching this. Of course, I'm 59 years old. But don't hold that against me. Unless you mean to do something with it?
Geeeez I could like this million times. Thanks SCTV
Wow!
I was so lucky to watch these hilarious peeps back in the early 70s @ The Second City. Then they become mega stars. Priceless memory.
These two are the greatest comedic geniuses we’ve got – I wish someone would get them together on a show NOW!!! Catherine O’Hara is the only person who can make me laugh from the get-go before she’s even done anything. What gifts!
Who didn't lust after Catherine O"Hara. ? I mean a clean honest and perfectly normal lust, right ? …right ?…anyone ?
All my girlfriends have made me laugh hysterically. All of them. I'm a sucker for a dame who makes me laugh!
So many of America's greatest performers are Canadian! Anne Murray and William Shatner included. A pantheon of stars.
Good lighting!
Funny women attractive? Who else thinks carol Burnett is sexy?
Catherine O'Hara is the real deal. Tremendously talented and very easy on the eyes. I forgot how spot on her Jane Fonda was. Nobody, I know of even attempted that. Kate Hepburn, Liz Taylor… yes, but Jane…Amazing!!
Gotta say, Marty was the least funny guy on SCTV. That includes the ladies, badda boom. Not sure why people say he's so funny, he definitely seems nice and enthusiastic, but I never found him very funny. He was the guy who talked louder than everybody else to make sure you heard him but wished he'd shut up. Even now those Jiminy Glick things are basically fat jokes and him putting on glasses and making the same funny face. Rick and John I thought were the two funniest, not sure why Rick won't have anything to do with, well, anything any more.
21:16 is the basis for Celebrity death match.
What year was this filmed? It looks like Catherine from now and Marty from the 80s
"Men are always attracted to funny women". Unfortunately only if they're hot. Otherwise if would be a bigamist.
SCTV was a highlight of my Canadian childhood-everyone in my family loved them so much-so hilarious!
NO ONE topped them then, nor now! Even MADTV was better than SNL (with the exception of one season: 84-85 – which included Martin Short). SCTV Alummni created amazing 3D characters, did fantastic impressions, generated absolutely hilarious sit-com content, & cherry-topped it all with amazing makeup & wardrobe!!! Their most Genius Move, though, was how they incorporated their guest star or musical artist into the fabric of the sketch – case in point; AL Jarreau in The Jazz Singer, or James Ingram in a Dr. Tongue/Bruno episode.
I couldn't WAIT til Friday nights & MADE SURE I was in front of that TV 12:30AM – 2AM ready to go! It got me through many (miserable) years in High School… I was compelled to write them a letter – & DID – about how much I LOVED their show/acting/make-up, & felt it a "personal achievement" convincing my parents to stay up & watch them! 《heh》(…well. ….they were in bed by 8pm & 10pm but I convinced them this was TOTALLY WORTH IT.. & I was right!! They were knocked out by the quality of humor & characters, & became just a addicted as I did!)
These well-seasoned comedians/comediennes are my FAVORITES – – –
