In the video SCTV – Robert Gordon – Someday, Someway – Introduced by Walter Cronkite (Dave Thomas) (1982), Bob and Doug McKenzie are two of fictional Canadian actors who were featured in “Great White North”, a skit which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in in the early 80s. Bob’s character is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and the character Doug is created by Dave Thomas. Although made originally as a skit to both please and laugh at stupid Canadian content legislation, the duo transformed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
