Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Season 2, ep. 4 – Solid Gold Telethon
In the video SCTV Season 2, ep. 4 – Solid Gold Telethon, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of hilarious Canadian comedians who created “Great White North”, a improv which was televised on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 80’s. The character Bob McKenzie is created by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is acted by actor Dave Thomas. It was born originally as filler to both follow guidelines and laugh at non sensical Canadian content laws, the brothers became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the States. The characters enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
