Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Season 3, ep. 11 Sammy Maudlin Show – Bittman/Hope

In the video SCTV Season 3, ep. 11 Sammy Maudlin Show – Bittman/Hope, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of odd Canadian brothers who hosted “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most watched season when it moved to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the year 1980. Bob is brought to life by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by Dave Thomas. Although developed originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and make fun of stupid Canadian content legislation, the pair became a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and across the border. The two later became the focus of a famous comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
