Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Season 3, ep.18 Alpha Channel

In the video SCTV Season 3, ep.18 Alpha Channel, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian brothers who can been seen in “Great White North”, a program which was aired on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most popular season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. Bob’s character is created by comedian Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by actor Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as filler to both follow guidelines and make fun of legal Canadian content guidelines, the characters turned into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the United States. The brothers went on to become the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
