Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Season 3, ep. 19 Midnight Express Special

In the video SCTV Season 3, ep. 19 Midnight Express Special, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of fictional Canadian actors who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was featured on SCTV – second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it streamed by CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob McKenzie is played by comic Rick Moranis and the character Doug is performed by the comedian Dave Thomas. It was developed originally as fluff to both follow guidelines and makes jokes about non sensical Canadian content statutes, the siblings morphed into a pop culture hit in both Canada and across the border. The characters became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
