In the video SCTV Season 3, ep. 6 – 60/20 The Lone Ranger Show, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of made up Canadian family members who hosted “Great White North”, a program which was broadcast on second city television for the show’s 3rd season when it got sent to the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s part is created by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is created by actor Dave Thomas. Regardless the fact it was born originally as a sketch to both fulfill and make fun of annoying Canadian content statutes, the duo became a pop culture hit in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers soon became the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
