Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV season 4 opening #1
In the video SCTV season 4 opening #1, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a duo of odd Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a skit which was introduced on SCTV for the show’s 3rd season when it braodcast by the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the eighties. The pair enetually would become the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.

I'd be like Joe Flaherty, out working in a rose garden right now, if we actually had weather befitting the recent transition to spring instead of a continuation of winter in the PNW. @0:27, was Dave Thomas doing an impersonation of Stephen J. Cannell at the end of the respective TV series that he was responsible for bringing to the airwaves?
The theme tune is a De Wolfe library tune, if anyone was curious. Here's an upload, in stereo too! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Pc_ZUK1XmCo
I love how a few people didn't even open their windows before throwing out their t.v. LOL
Gino Vannelli !!! LOL
At 1:05 when the bus pulls up–the building seen just up from the bus on the left is Sick Children's Hospital in Toronto
Love how Dave Thomas is out in the forest writing on a typewriter, and decides to have a “screw it, I am in!” look to his face when was asked to come with them.
It would be nice if DECADES TV would do a weekend binge of SCTV!!!!!
Original season 4 opening, from May 1981, when it was first known as "SCTV Network 90".
So the intro explained that SCTV went off the air, NBC invited the performers to sign a contract with them to put SCTV back in business, then NBC told them to get out of New York City, and finally SCTV went back on the air.
They signed their contracts in pencil!
This show still inspires me….
At the time this was filmed in Edmonton. I t was there for awhile before moving to Toronto
The SCTV Episodes were on this YouTube channel but got deleted due to copyright, I would wan't to get a hold of SCTV Volume 1 or 2 DVD set, because on amazon.com it costs $37.
I love the way Eugene Levy holds onto Rick Moranis when they are told to 'get the hell out of New York!" lol
WOW what is happening here. I've never seen this one up from up here in Canada (where the show was filmed??)
Shouldn't the openings have focused on the station itself and it's characters like Guy Caballero and Edith Prickley? I mean these people don't even appear in the show as themselves (maybe its technical point) Not sure hiow they would have done it and still got the names and faces of the performers out there along with the characters. Maybe it's alittle too "inside baseball"
