Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV season 4 opening #2
In the video SCTV season 4 opening #2, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a couple of odd Canadian siblings who hosted “Great White North”, a sketch which was included on SCTV for the show’s most watched season when it moved to CBC Television in the eighties. Bob’s character is acted by actor Rick Moranis and Doug is brought to life by comic Dave Thomas. Despite created originally as filler to both satisfy and laugh at non sensical Canadian content demands, the brothers grew up to be a pop culture sensation in both Canada and the US. The brothers soon became the focus of a huge comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
SCTV Network, as aired on network television in the 1981-82 season.

This intro was used in the last 5 episodes of cycle 1 of season 4. Strangely enough, this is also where most of the footage in this intro is used for the syndicated intro.
Easily the best one.
This was known as the "Cycle 2" episodes opening (October 1981-February 1982) and the last ones to have the "90" in the title.
NOT the original music, which was much funnier / better than this lame-ass music
episode of the show was on this YouTube channel but got deleted because of copyright.
@onlyrock1 This was the intro for "SCTV Network 90" on NBC. I believe that the show this was opening was the Emmy winning "Moral Majority" show, broadcast July 10, 1981. I have the SCTV Network 90 5 Disc box set. In fact, I have the entire NBC run of the show in box sets from Shout! Factory. I used to stay up late on Friday nights and tape the audio track on cassette tape. I still have a couple of them left. Best Sketch comedy show EVER produced!!!
Weird, this must be the U.S. intro…?
These were the stars that made SCTV classic television — sorry, I never got into Martin Short (and still haven't). Count Floyd, Dr. Tongue, Johnny LaRue, Bobby Bittman, and the incredible Jerry Todd ( who GAVE us VIDEO ! ) were the greatest ! Andrea Martin and Catherine O'Hara were histerical, brainy, sexy, and so fantastic !
