Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Shakespeare’s Greatest Jokes

In the video SCTV Shakespeare’s Greatest Jokes, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of fictional Canadian siblings who created “Great White North”, a improv which was introduced on SCTV – second city television for the show’s most liked season when it was broadcast on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel in the 1980s. Bob’s part is acted by the funny Rick Moranis and Doug’s part is acted by comic Dave Thomas. The sketch was made originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh at stupid Canadian content legislation, the pair transformed into a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and across the border. The two soon became the focus of a hit comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
