Bob and Doug McKenzie in SCTV Sign Off Mel Torme

In the video SCTV Sign Off Mel Torme, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of imaginaryfunny Canadian siblings who can been seen in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was included on SCTV – second city television for the show’s third season when it moved to CBC Television in 1980. Bob is brought to life by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie is created by the comedian Dave Thomas. Despite made originally as filler to both please and make fun of network Canadian content policies, the pair became a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The pair went on to become the focus of a bestselling comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
