In the video SCTV – Special Message from station manager Edith Prickley, Bob and Doug McKenzie are a group of strange Canadian comedians who were featured in “Great White North”, a ad lib skit which was streamed on second city television for the show’s third season when it got sent to CBC Television in the 1980s. Bob’s part is created by hilarious comedian Rick Moranis and Doug McKenzie’s part is created by actor Dave Thomas. The bit was developed originally as a joke to both follow guidelines and mock legal Canadian content policies, the duo grew up to be a pop culture phenomenon in both Canada and the States. The McKenzie brothers later became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
