In the video SCTV – STRETCH YOUR ARM! With Twink Dinkendale (Thursdays at 9), Bob and Doug McKenzie are a pair of odd Canadian family members who were featured in “Great White North”, a sketch which was streamed on SCTV for the show’s most liked season when it braodcast by CBC Television in the eighties. Bob is played by comic Rick Moranis and Doug’s character is performed by actor Dave Thomas. Although created originally as a sketch to both satisfy and laugh at stupid Canadian content guidelines, the characters morphed into a pop culture smash hit in both Canada and the USA. The pair soon became the focus of a an amazing comedy album, The Great White North, in 1981.
